Martin Authentic D-28 1937 VTS-Vintage Gloss!

This impressive guitar will please the most discerning Martin collector! The Premium Adirondack top has been Torrefied to change the cellular structure to that of an 80 year old Vintage guitar! The sound is rich, robust, and extremely resonant! Madagascar Rosewood was chosen for the back and sides. The voice of this wood is very similar to extinct Brazilian Rosewood. This instrument features a hand-rubbed gloss finish that has a satin-sheen appearance. A real treasure, whose unbelieveable sound is easily worth $100,000!

Martin D-28 Marquis Adirondack-d

SOLD......Martin D-28 Marquis

We are EXCITED about this booming, big sounding dreadnought, with a 1 3/4" fingerboard! The Adirondack Spruce top produces a powerful, "CANNON-like", bark! Martin chose the Golden Era Style for the forward-shifted scalloped bracing—also made with Solid Adirondack Spruce. Grained Ivoroid body binding, with fine Herringbone top inlay gives this fine guitar a very "vintage" look. On the fingerboard is inlaid the long pattern Golden Era "Diamond and Square" Abalone inlays. Ancient, fossilized Ivory is used to craft the nut and bridge saddle. If you loved the sound of the 1930's, "golden-era" Martins, then hold on to your socks, because this guitar will really "do it" for you!!!

C.F. Martin D-16 Adirondack top / Mahogany back and sides !

This is a guitar almost too good to be true, at a very reasonable price!! The Adirondack top has Martin's luscious aging toner, which gives this fabulous instrument that "vintage" look. The Adirondack braces boost the response of the "Hybrid" scalloping of the top of this remarkably-good sounding -16 series guitar. What a crisp and sustained sound you get when you start picking this beauty! The vintage modified "V" shape, the dots fingerboard inlay, and solid Striped Ebony fingerboard and bridge, all finish out this guitar ! This Limited-Time Build Martin gives clear trebles, strong mid ranges, and a powerful bass! Genuine Mahogany is used for the back and sides, which gives that "clear as a bell" flatpicked response! The 1 3/4" nut width, and the modified V profile neck make for easy playability. Old-style 18 Tortoise is used for the body binding, along with the corresponding Old-style 18 rosette. A full gloss finish highlights this beautiful instrument.

SOLD.....Martin HD-28E Retro!

We wondered why this HD-28 sounded so GOOD! Of course, ALL of them are great acoustically, but most are not equipped with a pickup, like this Retro model. At first, as we played it through an acoustic amp, we were amazed at how great those Pre-war imaged guitars responded through the Fishman F1 pickup! So rich, so strong, so masterful were the glorious, amplified sounds! But then we unplugged, and this finely-crafted guitar continued to surprise and please! A look at Martin's specs revealed the reasons for this excellent acoustic Martin. The 5/16" braces were "forward-shifted', which meant that the trebles and mid-ranges notes were more clear and distinct; while the bass is still prominent, it blends more evenly. And playability was incredible, too; Martin's genius-level builders fashioned their already-comfortable Modified Low Oval neck with the very popular Performance taper--giving a very slim run from the 1 3/4" bone nut to the 14-fret join! MAP: $3659; Martin"s Retail Price: $4599

Martin HD-28

This is Martin Guitar Company's best-selling guitar! Each top has braces which are hand-shaved by CFM's most experienced crafters, to bring out the clearest, finest trebles and most powerful, most resonant basses a guitar can be capable of producing!! This guitar is patterned after C.F. Martin's powerhouse D-28 made in the late 1930's. A very user-friendly and easy-to-play low profile neck is a most welcome update of the old 'baseball bat" necks found on earlier Martins. No wonder this guitar continues to please old and new generations of Martin lovers!! MAP: $3059; Martin's Retail Price: $3899

Martin D-41, Fine East Indian Rosewood/Premium Sitka Spruce!

Martin D-41, Fine East Indian Rosewood/Premium Sitka Spruce!

From the front, this guitar looks exactly like the glorious D45 model! It is made with upgraded East Indian Rosewood, and topped off with Fine-grained Sitka Spruce. Much intense handwork goes into the crafting of this Martin, with the inlay of dozens of Abalone pieces around the border of the top and rosette, as well as the famous "Hexagon" inlays in the fingerboard—and, there is also the D45-style inlay on the headstock!! This is a favorite instrument with customers of ours, who range from blues to bluegrass, and from Jazz to Celtic styles. MAP: $4499; Martin's Retail Price: $5599

Martin D-42, Premium East Indian Rosewood/Premium Sitka Spruce

SOLD.......Martin D-42, Premium East Indian Rosewood/Premium Sitka Spruce

Using premium tonewoods—Sitka Spruce for the top, and East Indian Rosewood on the back and sides—this instrument is built following Prewar Specifications! The 5/16" bracing under the top is advanced forward to the soundhole one inch. This shifted bracing produces a huge sound; most Martin lovers refer to this as a "cannon"! The most discriminating guitarist will find a world of great balance between the trebles and bass tones. The tuning machines are gold and open-geared, with butterbean knobs. The headstock owns a Style 45 inlay, in beautiful Abalone pearl. The fingerboard is tastefully appointed with the style 45 Snowflake inlay. Select, sparkling abalone pearl adorns the top, and is used for all the inlays on this magnificent guitar! MAP: $5599; Martin's Retail Price: $7099

Martin HD 35, East Indian Rosewoood, Sitka Spruce-

Here is Martin's brilliant addition to an already fabulous Dreadnought guitar line. This model was created in the mid-1960s, when Brazilian Rosewood was becoming scarce and trees were becoming smaller and smaller due to overharvesting in Brazil. But Martin's brilliant luthiers, instead of not using this wonderful tonewood because the trees were producing boards too small for two-piece backs, were able to join three small planed boards together to make a wonderful-sounding back, along with the sides and tops. The idea was popularly accepted, and folks insisted the three--piece back helped make the Martin bass response deeper and richer. There were other opinions, where folks thought that the three-piece backs gave more voice to the treble tones. Today, the HD 35 has evolved into a fine guitar in its own right, having 1/4" bracing, instead of the HD-28 5/16" brace. Many players believe this is an excellent Dreadnought Martin to use for either flatpicking or fingerpicking, because of its balance of tone in both the bass and treble sounds! MAP: $3229; Martin's Retail Price: $4099

Martin has upgraded the venerable D-18 for the discerning 21st Century player! Beginning with a wonderful, sleek, Modified Low Oval neck shape with the Performing Artist taper makes this guitar play so smooth, you might think it almost can play itself! The width at the nut is 1 3/4 inches; and this gives more room to move around cleanly on the Ebony fingerboard. The tuning machines are Nickel , and open-geared, with Butterbean knobs. The bridge is a 1930"s style "belly" Ebony creation, wth a drop-in saddle. Martin retained the traditional dove-tail neck join, and added the forward-shifted, hand-scalloped top bracing pattern; this has produced that special tone that came from the old original D-18s! MAP: $2459; Martin's Retail Price: $3099
